At this year's edition of Cinematica Festival, UK will be represented by Billy Cowie, Scottish choreographer, composer and filmmaker. Billy works principally in the area of dance/theatre performance, screendance and installation. Three of his video installations of dance, will be presented in the course of the Festival.
Cinematica, now in its third edition, is a festival which deals specifically of the relationship movement-image referring to the concept of image-mouvement of the French philosopher Gilles Deleuze. The festival moves in view of contamination of genres and knowledge, referring to the liquidity of boundaries of contemporary society, proposing a program that ranges from the performing arts to the filmic and visual, from philosophy to somatic studies. Born intercepting a strong line of contemporary debate on the relationship body/image and corporeality and new media, from both an aesthetic and social and communicative point of view.
A special edition that winds through three eventful weekend. Surrealism the main theme of this year declined across the boards, inviting authors who have the characteristic to work in a creative state that favour the free association of thought, the displacement of meaning and language freedom.
