Gender Bender Festival in Bologna, an international Festival introducing the Italian public to the new imagery related to gender identities, sexual orientations and body representations stemming from contemporary culture, hosts the Italian premiere of Maxine Peake Hamlet.

The movie, shot by Margaret Williams, brings to the big screen the acclaimed 2014 play by Sarah Frankcom, that sold out at the Royal Exchange Theatre in Manchester, with the amazing Maxine Peake in the role of Hamlet, and Polonius, who becomes Polonia (Gillian Bevan).

An overwhelming and immersive film that, thanks to the eight cameras used in filming, gives us all the intensity and power of the settings with which Sarah Frankcom reshuffled the cards on the table (together with gender identity) of this Shakespearean masterpiece, bewitching both audience and critics alike.
