On the occasion of the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare's death, Fondazione Teatro Piemonte Europa presents six plays which are the outcome of a particularly interesting and original project called After Shakespeare.
The project involves six authors: Nicola Fano, also curator of the project, Alberto Gozzi, Donatella Musso, Sergio Pierattini, Lidia Ravera and Lia Tomatis, called to write six plays describing what might have happened to the heroes of Shakespeare, after the curtain fell on their events.
Salvate Desdemona (Rescue Desdemona), is set in the middle of the seventies, with its political collectives and militant feminism; Desdemona is a committed and sophisticated girl who loves theater, Othello is a rude and concrete worker. Their relationship is undermined by jealousy, but when the situation seems to be hopelessly out of control, Desdemona sorts all out.
