ArtLab, among British Council partners, is the inspiring and powerful, cross sectorial, independent Italian platform, dedicated to innovating practices and policies in and through arts and culture, by the structured dialogue among the key stakeholders of the cultural and creative ecosystem, in an international perspective.
Initiated in 2006 by Fondazione Fitzcarraldo, it is based on a partnership of over 40 Italian and European cultural networks, national cultural institutes, municipalities/regional authorities and agencies, businesses, foundations, cultural and creative umbrella organizations, universities. The partners contribute to the sustainability, programming and dissemination of the outputs.
The edition of ArtLab 2019 consists of two main events: Milan (June 27-28) and Bari-Matera (October 24-26), broken down in different formats, which are characterized by the presence of an extensive and high qualitative level of international experiences and actors for the purpose of a programmatic and operational discourse on the most effective conditions and processes for the development of the cultural and creative ecosystem.
The two monothematic laboratories in Treia and Mantova are designed with local partners and hosted by well-established events. A third laboratory takes place in Helsinki and will contribute to the international debate on the development of the Cultural and Creative Industries.
