On its way through a worldwide tour, The Globe’s Globe to Globe Hamlet tour will be stopping off at the Politeama Rossetti in Trieste, for its only performance in Italy.
The tour was launched in 2014 on the 450th anniversary of Shakespeare's birth, and since then it has toured every country in the world in those two years. It will arrive in Italy just a few days before the end of this incredible adventure - in the year when the world is commemorating the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare's death.
Artistic Director of Shakespeare’s Globe and Director of Hamlet, Dominic Dromgoole, said about this project:
‘Globe to Globe Hamlet was created with the aim of performing Hamlet to as many people as possible, in as diverse a range of places as possible. The central principle of the tour is that Shakespeare can entertain and speak to anyone, no matter where they are on earth; and that no country or people are not better off for the lively presence of Hamlet.’
