On the occasion of the XXI Triennale International Exhibition, BASE Milano, the venue of the UK participation at XXI Triennale di Milano, houses the exhibition Harris Tweed: Adventures in Design, provides a showcase of the famous Harris Tweed cloth interpreted by leading British fashion designers and tailors who have used it creatively in their collections.
Featuring the iconic Vivienne Westwood, multi-award winning designer Margaret Howell, the world-famous label Maison Martin Margela – designed by John Galliano, historic Savile Row tailors Huntsman, Kathryn Sargent – the only female Savile Row tailor, Kara Keddie – a recent menswear graduate of the celebrated Central St Martins, Topman – the cool British high street brand that has introduced a new generation of customers to this famous cloth, and Blackhouse – manufacturer of elegant contemporary Harris Tweed seating.
The showcase is organised by UK Trade & Investment, Harris Tweed Authority and V&A Museum of Design Dundee; project by Marina Iremonger, Head of Consumer & Creative Trade Team UKTI Milano.
