Wordsandsounds: Shakespeare 2.016 is the title of the project by the Charioteer Theatre, the Scottish theatrical company lead by Laura Pasetti, which returns to the Piccolo with a rich programme of shows in English dedicated to William Shakespeare – as well as #SonsOfGod#VOX, they will be presenting The Merry Wives of W(indsor)illiam, Breakfast with Shakespeare, and, exclusively for schools, #SonsOfGod#OUT – on the 400th anniversary of the famous playwright's death.

The second appointment with the Charioteer Theatre, The Merry Wives of W(indsor)illiam is a play on words of the title of one of Shakespeare's most famous comedies, The Merry Wives of Windsor, in which the words of the English playwright are "reread" by the director Laura Pasetti.

In The Merry Wives of W(indsor)illiam, three widows meet on the anniversary of the death of their "loved one", in a meeting of song and prose. Contemporary music and words challenge the words of the 16th century; they entwine and weave together in a battle between hearts. A game, a surreal joke in which three musicians pretend to be actresses and have fun taking on Shakespearian verse in its original language.

Duration: one hour and 20 minutes without interval.
