On the 400th Anniversary of the death of William Shakespeare, Galleria Russo of Rome celebrates the greatest playwright of all times with the exhibition Shakespeare in Rome: a contemporary homage to his genius and the influence he still has over artistic languages.
With a critical essay in the catalogue by the British journalist and critic Andrew Dickson and with the Patronage of the British Council in Italy, the exhibition is part of the Shakespeare Lives progect, a year-long programme of events and activities to celebrate the influence of William Shakespeare around the globe, run in collaboration with the Great Britain campaign partners.
Seven young artists, Enrico Benetta, Diego Cerero Molina, Roberta Coni, Manuel Felisi, Michael Gambino, Massimo Giannoni and Tommaso Ottieri, will reinvigorate the writings, locations, atmospheres and characters of William Shakespeare in the space of Galleria Russo through their original and innovative re-interpretations.
Opening times: Monday: 16:30 to 19:30; Tuesday to Saturday 10:00 to 19:30 - free entrance
