This year, TESOL Italy’s conference brings us the theme of “Paths of Change”. There will be a wide variety of stimulating talks and workshops focused on encouraging teachers to re-think their way of teaching in order to engage with the current world we live in.
British Council is delighted to be sponsoring one of TESOL Italy’s plenary speakers this year, Joanna Budden. Joanna, based in British Council Barcelona, is the content manager for the British Council’s LearnEnglish websites. Joanna’s talk is entitled “Guiding our Young Learners through the Digital Jungle”, which highlights the need for all teachers who use technology with their learners to have a strong base and knowledge about online safety.
In addition, Janet Harfield, British Council Italy, will also be presenting “Getting Teens Talking in the Age of Social Media”, a talk which has also been accepted for IATEFL 2019. In her talk, Janet will provide participants with ideas, techniques and practical activities to encourage extended verbal communication both inside the classroom and beyond.
British Council is also pleased that our Director of English for the EU region, Chris Brandwood, has been invited to contribute to TESOL Italy’s opening session on Friday 16 November from 9.00 to 9.45am.
