Working with introverts in the classroom
The terms extrovert/introvert were first introduced by Carl Jung in his seminar Psychological Typesof 1921, but their influence has rarely been discussed in classroom behaviour, and as teachers we run the risk of giving more attention to extroverts than introverts. The purpose of this seminar is to redress any possible misbalance, challenge our perceptions of class participation and discuss ways of bringing out introverted students.
