Its vision aims at encouraging and facilitating the extraction of cultural value from urban and artistic resources, and from intangible heritage. It works for municipal administrations, cultural organisations, creative enterprises.

Tramway

Tramway is one of Scotland’s leading international art-spaces; the venue acts as a hub for creative excellence in contemporary performance and visual art by developing presentation and production opportunities supporting ambitious commissions, residencies and the production of new exhibitions by both Scottish and International artists. The organisation has hosted several of Scotland’s landmark festivals and cultural events in recent years including The Turner Prize, Unlimited Festival, Glasgow International Festival, Dance International Glasgow, Sonica and Take Me Somewhere Festival.

Tramway is recognised as a vital support mechanism and production house for the creation of new contemporary performance and visual art in Scotland. By providing transformative cultural activity, talent development as well as pioneering models of production and participation, Tramway operates as both an acclaimed international arts organisation and vital community hub.

Tramway’s aim is to grasp its responsibility as an international organisation to maintain  dialogue with our peers across the world, keeping Scotland connected to the richness and quality  of international inspiration and supporting artists from diverse backgrounds and cultures. This includes bringing international artists to Scotland to present while giving  Scottish artists an ambitious platform to present their work.
