The Picture of Dorian Gray in the theatre and the classroom
This interdisciplinary seminar focusing on Oscar Wilde's 1891 novel is divided into two parts. The first part takes its lead from a current production to discuss the dynamics involved in creating a stage version, the second the issues inherent in teaching the novel at high school level in the 21st century.
