Sostenere l'organizzazione di un ambiente sicuro per gli studenti nelle sedi del British Council e nelle scuole partner. Aiutare a garantire che i sistemi e le procedure di protezione dell'infanzia siano rispettati dal personale e dai clienti. Fornire supporto a tutti i membri del personale che lavorano con gli studenti più giovani (dai 3 ai 17 anni).
E' richiesta una comprensione intermedia della lingua inglese e avanzata della lingua italiana.

Role overview
This opportunity is ideal for students or newly graduates on subjects such as Scienze dell’Educazione e Formazione or English studies (or others) who want to be part of a large educational organisation. Applications are anyway welcome from candidates with any background, age or interest.

The Young Learner Assistants will be expected to be available when young learner classes take place at our different premises in Milan, Rome, and Naples in the afternoon and all day Saturday during the school year and Monday to Friday during the school holidays. The YL Assistants will join an existing teaching centre team.
Accountabilities, responsibilities and main duties:
To support the British Council Child Protection Strategy by:
- Supervising young learners in British Council and Partner school premises before, during and after class
- Assisting with Parent duty/filtering at British Council and Partner school premises before and after class
- Support in collecting and following up on absences and lateness for secondary classes
- Supervising break-time and ensuring that YLs respect the break rules
- Supervising change-over times
- Supporting anti-Covid precautions (temperature checks, etc)
- Looking after YLs when they are ill and informing accordingly
- Following Child Protection systems and procedures
- Helping with IT and setting up and closing down Partner Schools, if necessary
- Helping with admin tasks when required and approved
- Assisting with classroom activities when required

Other important features or requirements of the job
The post may require travel back and forth between British Council Partner Schools. It will involve working unsocial hours (late afternoon/evenings and Saturdays) and during the school holidays.
Working hours: YLAs will be able to express their preference over a certain number of hours, specific day/s and location. YLAs typically work between 4 and 8 hours per week. Applicants will however be able to express their interest in working fewer or more hours, in a certain day per week, or over more days, in one or more locations.
Training:
- Child protection training (mandatory) – information will be given to selected candidates
CLOSING DATE: 22 September 2021 – selected applicants will be contacted for online interviews. Work will start in October 2021.
How to apply
Applicants must be at least 18 years old, based in our three cities Milan, Rome and Naples and hinterland and must be able to demonstrate:
- reliability and punctuality
- effective teamworking/organisational skills
- an interest towards education
- cultural awareness
- an ability to work well under pressure
- CEFR level B2 levels of spoken and written English (preferably Certificate)
- spoken Italian (native speaker or CEFR level C1 minimum)
Contract: this is a “collaborazione occasionale” job, for which you will be able to select the dates and times you will be providing your service among our timetable. The pay per hour is €12 (€18 for eventual supervisors). If you don’t have a VAT number, you may need to avoid exceeding 5,000 euros gross per year. You may need to consult your tax consultant.

After this, they will be asked to attend a live training.
We will provide a training online and will ask them to provide us with a copy of their casellario giudiziale and three references before they start working.
After the interviews, successful applicants will have to attend the training.
